Name numerology calculator
The Pythagorean system gives every letter a value from 1 to 9 by its position in the alphabet. All the letters give the expression number, the vowels give the soul urge number and the consonants the personality number.
Only the letters A–Z count; accented letters are folded to their base letter and digits and punctuation are ignored. A name written differently gives a different result, which is why the system asks for the full name at birth.
Frequently asked questions
Which name do I use, my birth name or my current one?
The numerological tradition asks for the full name on the birth certificate for the expression number, and the name you use daily for a reading of the present.
How is Y handled?
As a vowel when it is the only vowel sound in a syllable and as a consonant otherwise. Here it counts as a consonant, the convention most automatic calculators use.
Why are 11, 22 and 33 left as they are?
They are the master numbers, kept whole in every variant of the Pythagorean system.
